Language is not only indispensable to our daily life but it also interacts with human cognition, thoughts, culture and society in various ways. That is why the scientific study of language is an important way of investigating the human nature. ICU's linguistics courses emphasize collaborations with interdisciplinary areas (cognitive science, psychology, brain science, philosophy mathematical logic, etc.), with the main focus being on the core sub-fields in linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics).
