As we live in a rapidly changing social environment, communication and media serve as important tools and windows for us to participate and respond to our social environment. The Media, Communication and Culture Major focuses on the interplay between individuals, society and culture by focusing on communication processes, media, culture, and language.

The Major offers four areas of concentration: communication studies, media and cultural studies, translation and interpretation studies, and language and society. Students will learn how to critically understand the dynamic communication environment where new and old media co-exist, which can serve as one of the essential qualifications for becoming responsible and active local and global citizens.
